The greatest stories have always been told on the stage, and the greatest storytellers have always been actors. Join one of our London Theatre Tours and discover the magic of London’s West End, home to some of the greatest theatres in the world, as well as the leading playhouses on the southside of the river Thames. This tour of London’s Theatres is truly unique as it is led by one of our expert tour guides who, when not resting, tread the boards as some of the UK’s up and coming theatre talent. Starting at Piccadilly Circus the tour will take you through the heart of London’s theatreland to see the theatres which, are home to the longest running west end play are and musical.
As the tour meanders through theatreland you will also learn what it’s like to be an actor in the city of giants such as Laurence Olivier, Ian Mckellen, and Judi Dench and how hit TV series such as The Crown and films such as Harry Potter can influence who gets the leading roles… even if sometimes the actor or actors in question, might not be suited to performing on the London stage!
The tour will also reveal just how much fun, exciting and sometimes unglamorous acting work can be, and how actors earn a living when ‘resting’ by putting their acting talents to good use. The tour will then take in the sites of the first two licensed theatre’s in the UK before crossing the river to view the Royal National Theatre of Great Britain, home to the Olivier, Lyttelton and Dorfman Theatres and the famous National Theatre Bookshop. After a quick stop at the National Theatre the tour will walk the short distance to the Old Vic Theatre which launched the careers of some of the world’s greatest Actors.
